Viyella fabric, also known as villela or viyella, is a fabric originally composed of cotton and wool, making it ideal for winter thanks to its warmth and thickness. Viyella fabric owes its name to the city where it originated and later became a registered trademark by the British firm that began manufacturing it artisanally in 1784. Thanks to the success of this fabric, the firm sold a large number of blouses, shirts, and robes made with viyella.
Currently, viyella is used in children's clothing, as well as suits, shirts, pajamas, or pants. The 140 g/m2 weight of our viyella, as well as its integral cotton composition, makes this fabric capable of providing warmth even on the coldest days, making it perfect for winter garments.
If there's anything else to highlight about viyella, it's undoubtedly its natural finish after the printing process, as well as its good color fixation, its drape, and its ease of being sewn and ironed. Furthermore, during the treatment we subject it to, the viyella fabric undergoes a washing process that ensures less shrinkage in subsequent cleanings, something that often happens with garments made of cotton.
